Green Waste
We offer one to six can service, plus bin and debris box rentals. To schedule service, please contact our main office at (209) 532-1413.
To help us provide you with the best possible service, please follow these guidelines:
Trash Containers: Trash should be put in either metal or plastic cans with handles and lids, or in heavy plastic trash bags. No container should exceed 32-gallons of capacity or weigh more than 40 pounds when full. Airtight lids and regular rinsing of garbage cans will help prevent flies and other pests.
Extra Refuse: If you have extra cans or bags to be picked up, we will pick it up and charge accordingly. Contact our office for additional can costs. You may also be charged for any container found to be overweight or with refuse above the top of container.
Time of Service: Refuse should be placed out by 5:00 am on the day of service. Containers must be in a readily accessible area free of any obstacles or hazards in order to be serviced. Trash can must not be more than 3 feet away from curb.
Household Hazardous Wastes: Household hazardous waste may NOT be put in your garbage or left separately for pickup. These wastes are dangerous, and those who illegally dispose of them will be prosecuted. If you have hazardous waste items to dispose, please call our office or Tuolumne County Environmental Health Department (209) 533-5588 for instructions on proper disposal methods.
Medical Waste: For people who routinely check their own blood levels or give themselves daily medical injections, please follow safe methods of disposal. Hypodermic needles cannot be placed in the trash, per California state law. Please call the Transfer Station for disposal instructions (209) 536-1719. Vistit MedWaste TrackerSM for more information.
Large Bulky Items: We do not pick up large bulky items. Large items are accepted at the Cal Sierra Transfer Station. For more information on appliance and construction debris, contact our office.
Dog or Cat Droppings: Droppings must be double bagged.
Ashes: Ashes are accepted only if they are COMPLETELY cold and are placed in a double bag. Remember, one small ember can start a fire in our truck and put lives in danger.
Severe Weather Conditions: In the event of inclement weather, refuse pick-up may be delayed until your next scheduled pick up day.
Holidays: There is normal collection on all holidays except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. You will be notified in advance on your billing statement as to the alternate pick up day.
Gifts/Payments: Drivers are not allowed to accept alcoholic beverages or payments.
Discontinuing Service: It is the customer’s sole responsibility to notify the office if they are discontinuing service for any reason. You will be charged for service until the office is notified.
Our Blue Bag Recycling Program makes it easy for you to recycle and help reduce the amount of waste going into landfills. You are not required to have garbage service to participate in the Blue Bag program.
If you have residential garbage service, place your Blue Bags next to your garbage can by 5:30am on your garbage pick up day. Our drivers collect the recyclable items in the Blue Bags at the same time they collect your trash.
If you do not have residential garbage service, call your local trash company to find out which day to put out the Blue Bag for collection.
In order for our employees to distinguish between bagged recyclables and bagged trash, only material in the approved Curbside Recycling Blue Bags* is considered recyclable.
Due to the difficulty in working with mixed waste and recyclables; bagged material that is not in the official Blue Bags is considered trash and not collected unless the customer calls our office for an extra trash pickup.
